Anyone who gives a car like this to his daughter for her 16th birthday is a moron. You don't give ANYTHING like this to a new driver, let alone one who will drive with a cell phone in one hand and a Frappuccino in the other. That, and the bit of jealousy that comes from seeing someone get my dream car for free while I won't be able to afford one for another couple of decades.

#9, Muscle Car Review not long ago profiled a Marina Blue 1967 Camaro RS convertible owned by a recent college graduate, whose father (a muscle car restorer, apparently) bought for her when she was 14 and restored in time for her 16th birthday. For about six or seven years, the girl has driven the car (sparingly), showed it, and cared for it perfectly. Not only was the car freaking gorgeous, but it was also totally stock. When the girl's father offered to put a stereo in it during the resto, she refused, saying to leave the original AM radio in, since she didn't want to compromise the car's originality. Spoiled kid? Maybe. But a worthy owner of that particular car? You bet.

In short, if the kid's responsible and can take care of the car, so be it. I'm jealous, but I applaud any owner who takes care of their car, regardless of age.
