The "outside" sets of runners are the short runners. They're supposed to have little throttle bodies (called runner controls or IMRCs) in them, but those have been deleted for the sake of airflow. Also conspicuously absent are the EGR ports that normally protrude well into the long runners (the "inside" set). This should be a nice intake with minimal restrictions. I will lose some low-end torque due to lost velocity (IMRCs are designed to help runner velocity), but I took this into account when I chose gearing for the car. |

Just waiting on the upper intake manifold (which will be a cut-and-weld job; the plenum was cut open to remove all the bolt posts and casting lumps) and somewhat excessive throttle body. Hopefully only another couple weeks, then it'll be time to fix the exhaust (chambered mufflers drone too much), put the manifolds on, and tune the thing. |

#3, Why the "somewhat excessive" TB? |

Hopefully I'll get the opportunity to do some suspension stuff before too much longer; it's picked up a bit of axle hop. |

#5, 70mm, stock is 60. IMHO, it's more than I really need for an NA application. However, if I'm having an upper intake ported to match a TB of my choice, I'm going to go with one I wouldn't "outgrow" if I ever wanted to use a poweradder.
edit: Also, logically, it would seem that I'd get more throttle response with less pedal travel, which if nothing else would serve to help me forget my lack of low-end torque. :-P

#8, You don't want my old one. It's been halfshafted and used as a porting experiment. :-P |

I've gotta do something about the exhaust soon, though. The drone at 70 mph is just insane. |

Looks great. Anxious to see what it puts down. Then you can go beat on some V8s. |

Very slow ones, maybe. :-P
Actually, power output is similar to a stock '99-04 GT at the moment, but I've got better gearing. It might actually be quicker. :| |

#15, nothing wrong with a well tuned carb - but FI is better for daily driving.
I'm generally anti-FI for muscle cars because honestly, I don't know jack crap about 'em...
but I do plan to do a FI V8 someday... LT1s or LS1s are especially cool in older cars |

#17, blah, Ford EFI is where its at :-P
and yes Carb vs FI really comes down to how the car is going to be used. thats why the Stang is staying FI but the 460 going in the Mark is getting 2 4 barrels. since its just going to be a toy I want simple yet big power |

I prefer fuel injection, partly because I know there are some things with my current setup that would make a carburetor very unfriendly for daily driving. |

#19, I would NOT recommend a carb for a 3.8 Ford V6... unless you want to be 'different' :p
