The back ones are off of a 3 series, the salvage yard put that one on cause the original ones were too damaged to roll

BMW don't make steelies I guess and those came off of a wrecked 2001 BMW 300CI

I'm sure steelies from an escort or something would work just as well :) you just need the bolt pattern to match.

and BMW does make steel wheels. I've seen a bunch of 3 series with plastic wheel covers.
In all reality, they probably put those on because they had them available, and they wouldn't need to guess on the bolt pattern. if those wheels were too damaged to roll, I am pretty sure the suspension would be just as bad.
