1979 Z/28. Incidentally, 1979 is still the highest production year for the Camaro, for some reason, at 282,571 cars.

#15, Not surprisingly, it's also the highest production year for the Firebird. The reason? I'd wager it's simply because they were the only show in town by that point for a "performance" coupe. All other makes/models had largely been discontinued, AMC was out, Mopar was out, and the only serious competition was the Mustang, which had largely become pathetic by the late 70's

#16, ...buuuut, 1979 was the first year of the Foxstang... the Pintostang having been put out to pasture the year prior... kinda weird that the F-bodies did so well against a pretty good redesign of the Mustang.

#16, Probably right. 1977-1979 F-body production was high all three years.

#17, Camaro production dropped to around 150,000 in 1980....the Foxstang and the 1979 fuel crisis were probably the reasons.
