did you know that FedEx was founded in mid 70's and the only thing they did was deliver next day air envelopes...now they are trying to steal some ground service from ups, and ups is trying to get some air service from them

last year ups was voted #2 company to work for based on job satisfaction, pay, benefits, etc

btw fedex isn't unionized...boo!!!

seriously, i actually feel like i accomplished something in my life, working my ass off and starting to see the benefits

#3, forgot one more thing: fedex ground delivery drivers own their own trucks, and have to pay for gas and maintneance, and get paid per package delivered...ups ground has company trucks, and they are paid per hour with guaranteed 40-hour work weeks according to the contract and overtime for anything more than 8 hours a day, even if you work less than 40 hours a week...oh and the contract also guarantees top pay after 2 years of service and job security...as long you you show up and make a slight effort, you can't get fired

Personally, I won't ship UPS if I have to cross the border.
I find they almost bring meaning to the term of Highway Robery when they bring up Duty charges.
Just recently friend of mine bought a sound card for $40, delivered by UPS. When it got to his door they wanted $55 for Duty charges. Told them to send it back as he wasn't paying that much.
Had it resent by USPS, duty charge was $5 from them.

I've had similar problems with everything I have shipped by UPS across the border, so I refuse to deal with them when border crossing is involved.

#13, OKay, I know for a fact that DHL doesn't only do envelopes. Where I was previously working we had used them a couple of times for frieght shipments.

#17, WEll, I know there are at least a few 3-tonne trucks for DHL around here that I have seen.
Couldn't very well ship using their vans with what we were sending, and they couldn't land the plane in the dock.

#19, never seen one...i live in ny...i guess it just depends on the state...i'm pretty sure all they ship is envelopes here in tiny vans, probably because they cant compete with ups/fedex
