#2, It is just a quicker GT, really, along with some cosmetic changes. I think it's got some handling and braking improvements, as well. |

The heavier they get, the less it'll take to outrun, outbrake, and outhandle one. :D

#6, Jebus. That's heavier than the '03-'04 convertible Cobras, I think. To think I've got a car that weighs over 600 lbs. less (when it has an engine in it), and that it's still a wee bit heavier than it needs to be. |

#6, That's bloody ridiculous, no bigger than the car is. That's as much as a Mitsubishi 3000GT....which was a much larger car. |

#9, I never thought the 3000GT was that large, just bloated to the gills with whiz-bang technocrap (AWD, active aero, and four-wheel steer) that failed in true Mitsubishi style after a couple years. The non-VR4 models weighed significantly less. |

#12, Plus the fact that they made the new chassis about 200 lbs. heavier than the old one. The GTs have shot up another 200-250 lbs., for example, compared to the '04s. If the engine in this has similar weight to that in the '03-04 Cobra, which weighed 3600+ lbs., it just sort of makes sense. |

#13, I see, I don't even want to estimate how much the GT500 convertible will weigh. |

#19, I don't usually dismiss a car just based on it's pigginess, but the GT500 was overhyped due to the nameplate, overpriced due to insane markups, and under whelming due to its performance-hampering weight. I don't outright hate it like some people on here but it does have alot working against it. There really is no excuse for the car being that heavy unless it's a sedan or wagon. |
