#41, One of the main reasons he won that 2000 election was because Al Gore got real cranky at the third presidential debate. It was said that Bush kept a relaxed repose and won over voters because they didn't want a stringent president, they'd rather have someone at ease with himself. Which is strange because I always thought you'd want a leader to be passionate about something, as opposed to Dingus the wonder nerd we have in office now.

Edit: Well I guess Dingus does feel passionate about Gay bashing and Medicare...

I applaud that Global Warming thesis, Skid. Very excellent.

Day After Tomorrow was a fun movie, though, IMO. But I view it in the same league as "The Core", a silly action sci-fi movie based on an ounce of scientific knowledge, and two truckfulls of Hollywood bullshit. I just turn my brain off and enjoy watching visual-cotton-candy movies like that.

Thanks.

I just couldn't get into Day After, though. I found it entirely too preachy and it had some of the most jaw-droppingly ridiculous incidental plot elements I've ever seen.

#49, Basically, I turned my brain off during the Japan hailing scene. What the FUCK does that have to do with ANYTHING?!!!! ...and the scene TOTALLY looked like a fucking sound stage.

Day After Tommorrow was kinda good, I saw it on video a few months back. My main problem with it was imagining Dennis Quaid trekking from the North Pole to New York in a matter of hours. But, like DiRF said, I just turned my brain off and enjoyed the incoheent plot with a smile on my face and puddle of drool on my shirt.

#51, Uh, he trekked from Philadelphia to New York in about 7 or 8 days. Which is actually plausible.
