#40, Such a concise reply to such a longwinded pair of posts. :p If I was starting over again and I just wanted a basic, half-decent handling car, I'm guessing it would be about $800 worth of parts: Panhard bar, C-springs, Mach 1 shocks, and some LCAs.

Well after 1981 I know Pontiac switched to a live axle suspension which was better than the 2nd generation's leaf spring/staggered shock design, which may be good or bad depending on how you race your F-body. Then they had the space frames early in the 4th generation, and in 98 along with the LS1 the suspension was softened to appeal to a wider range of people. But I'd imagine a sway bar and control bar upgrade might help.
