#18, Skip pad figures have almost no relation to reality. What matters is how the car behaves when it becomes unstuck.
Can't argue with the low cost.

#17, McPherson is another thing that should have no room in a performance car.

#22, Skid pad and slalom numbers are basically the only way to boil handling down to numbers. Beyond that, it's pretty much subjective.

It's worth noting that Motor Trend had the '05 Mustang GT trouncing the Neon SRT-4, the Lancer Evolution RS, the Nissan 350Z, and the Volkswagen R32 on the road course during their comparison of all the vehices. Their exact quote:

"The steering is tidy. Cornering prowess is inspiring: the GT powers through the slalom at better than 65 mph. Yes, the Mustang's live axle has been roundly criticized for being a blatant cost-cutting measure, but all those sniffy "Independent Rear Suspension" badges won't do other drivers much good when your GT is already leaving exhaust echoes around the next bend."

#24, That was to be expected. FWD nor AWD are "race track" drives.
I'm called a basher but I like Stangs. Guess I'd have to drive one to concentrate on the driving instead of thinking about the technical details.

Really I'm the same way, but it's their engines I have a problem with. I've knocked the Ford modulars a few times on here.
