#1, I remember every day, in my senior year, A mid-70s Gremlin would come right by my classroom window to drop off some kid. It was a mess, all rusty, you could hear the engine from a mile away, it smoked and the rear springs were all worn out.

#3, they do wear out after many hundreds of thousands of miles.

#5, I know you can break springs... but I guess it's possible to wear them out too. My Renault's torsion-beam trailing arm rear suspension was sagging badly before it snapped. |
