Never understood why they didn't put the 3.8 SC in these...

that wouldn't be a bad idea.

My dad had one of these and it was decently quick, where there any mechanical differences between this and the stock 3.8?

these had the same 3.8 as GPSEs and Regals and Intrigues. I imagine they had somewhat higherspower figures, since they were suppoedly performance oriented. I want to get a baseish Lumy (or even my Monte) swap in a 3800 Series II.

yeah, I remember the first time I drove it I stomped the gas from a stop in the dry and it just stood still and smoked the tires for a few seconds... not a overwhelming amount of traction.

#5, heh. Even my 3.1 can smoke a tad. nearly 180 lb/ft will do that. I know, it's not the brightest idea, but it was fun the first time doing it.

Setting your emergency brake and getting up to 85 MPH on ice while stationary isn't a good idea either, doesn't mean it's not fun.

#7, but I dont want a toasted tranny though.

*off topic* sports traffic is fun, but some asshole in a Seqioua alomst hit my car. flying down the wrong side of my street to beat a line of slow cars. Fucking dicks. I'm gonna laugh of someoen gets into a wreck.

#8, if you had an '89 Tercel you too could do it and not make a cross dresser crunchy.

running over a bowling ball you just stole from the alley you got drunk in with some friends and driving around like a lunatic until the ball splits in half isn't a good idea either, but yes it's fun.

oh I rode with a freind this afternoon who just got his license. Must say, he a decent driver. He handled a GAGT at somewhat stupid speeds, but it was fun. On another note, this local jackass in a white Corsica keeeps challenging to race. Last night he cut me off and slowed down, and passed me again in a turn lane through a red light in a construction zone. Today he came wailing down my street and slid to a stop and did a burnout infront of my house.

Oh yeah, and an amends to what I said in another post awhile back, LTZ Luminas used the Monte carlo taillights.

Yeah, there's one in the parking lot of an Iparty in the plaza next to my market, and I remembered I had seen some before.
