Actually, he called my stereo crappy too! And I went through the trouble of making a G&R CD so they could have a photo of my stereo with Guns N Roses showing up on the display!

Two words: Pretentious cocksucker.

Apart from his overanalysis of a shitty song by a hugely overrated band (I always thought he "sweet child" of the lyrics was his kid....where the hell does he get it's a girlfriend?), he actually has the nerve to bash "Archie."

This guy's generation, like so many of them, got off to a good start: Expanding the heavy metal scene, exploring personal style and taste, and thumbing their noses at the system. Then suddenly they went the way of the Boomers: Corporate jobs, urban apartments, Starbucks, cell phones, and low-carb dieting.

Stillruns' car is the antithesis to that. It's about appreciating what you have, rather than pining for something flashy. It's about being proud of a 1972 Impala rather than wishing it were a Bentley Continental, and scoffing at our culture's obsession with useless displays of material wealth (24" rims, anyone?).

ABC News? Sadly, I was out drinking. Thirsty Thursday, right? Hey, news is subjective right? We all love Archie and the rest of the bunch here, so we all know those guys don't know what the hell those guys are talking about. Nice to see your posting again LTR.

#4, In short, it's the anti-bling, and it represents something that this guy's generation has forgotten all about: The power of subversion.

I can be pretty pretentious myself, but at least I don't go on ABC news to grandstand with my bullshit.

Which is why I like beater cars. I often find it true that beater cars hold more charcacter than newer cars. I think Stillruns has a neat vehicle, and no I am not being mean. I honestly like it. As for you comment about material wealth. Half of the retards that do that use mommy and daddy's money to bling up thier shit. To them, it means nothing, to common-folk like me and you, it shows how stupid the majority of today's 'youth' is. I say youth because some of the blingtards are highschoolers, and some are 30 and still live with mommy and daddy practicing for thier wishful rap career.

#7, Archie definitely says "durability" more than some chromed and pearl "donked" showpiece. And it seems there's not enough durability in the world today.

#8, Also, for a car that old to still be running is a feat. Our old Dodge truck has 260k on it more or less, and it rattles and shinks everywhere, but yupp, it still runs like a champ.

Hey, thanks for everyones' support. All 3 Impalas will be at a car show Nov 4th in Chandler, AZ at the 5 & Diner restaurant. 1PM-4PM. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophy for best 71-76 full size Chevy. I might take home all 3 if nobody else shows up with their 71-76er

#9, Just passed the annual emission test today on the first try! It was close. Reading was 396 out of an allowed 400! Neat numbers, both Chevy motors :-)

#12, hahaha. What's the score for emissions as we don't do that in MN or KS. All I know is when I took my Monte in for emissions/state road test crap the asshat who looked it over broke my dash clips because he was 'trying to make sure the passenger airbag was there". Fucker.

#11, Yeah, I just painted the black bondoed area and touched up all the rust spots and rust holes (with masking tape and spray paint. It looks a lot better (from a distance) and actually draws a lot more looks than it used to just a few days ago.

#14, not too bad then, I guess. Don't you have a Malibu too, or am I mistaken?

I trashed the Malibu's motor when I accidentally dropped a tool in there. My worst moment as a home mechanic. Read this comment then delete it and all memory of it.

#17, I gave the car away. Didn't have the time to deal with it, especially since we got a free replacement car (Mr. Jefferson - 83 Caprice)
