Cadillac has gone to alphanumeric names mostly, so standard models will be called the CMR. CMR sounds similar to "simmer", which is what lukewarm water tends to do and describes the car itself effectively. The top-of-the-line trim level will be called the CMRN, an homage to the 1980s classic, the Cimarron. It will be offered with an optional vinyl roof, premium cloth seats (leather optional), and extra chrome trim. The car will share almost all of its parts with the ~~Cavalier~~ Cobalt and should market at roughly double the price of a Cobalt. A CMRN-V model is in the works, powered by the same engine as the Cobalt SS. The CMRN, by Cadillac. Coming soon to a dealer near you.

I still say if the Cimmaron had simply been the highest trim level of the Cavalier, it would have been amazing... the Cimmaron truly was head and shoulders above the rest of the J-body lineup... had a very nicely tuned suspension, had the nice V6.... and I really did quite like the styling, as far as J-bodies go. If it had never been badged as a Cadillac, it would have been a success.
