Update #3: Yes, we've finally acquired Jeep, now in 20 years we can begin selling boxy lumbering vehicles with hardly any offroad capability to the unassuming public using hip hop appeal, just like we planned to all along! |

We'll also stop offering parts and services for AMC vehicles almost immediately, so we can push you into buying a new vehicle, hopefully one of ours.
To further confuse AMC owners, we'll continue to push AMC's current cars that we didn't want in the first place under a new brand called "Eagle," and we'll dillute the brand with rebadged Chryslers and Mitsubishis to deliberately sabotage it, then kill it off in about 10 years' time. AMC owners, no longer able to get official parts for their Concords, Pacers, and Matadors, will all buy new Eagle cars, providing us with money, and then maybe we can push them all into new Chrysler vehicles once Eagle tanks.
Seriously, I like both Chrysler and AMC, but I don't think this buyout was handled very well. |

#7, When Chrysler bought out AMC in 1987. Their main interest was in aquiring the Jeep brand. |

Chrysler had no SUV's at the time other than the Dodge Raider (rebadged 2 door Montero) and Ramcharger, none of which were setting the sales charts ablaze, they saw the coming popularity of SUV's but didn't want to spend time developing their own. Meanwhile, in France, anarchists killed the president of Renault, setting the stage for the merger.

I remember my grandpa gave me this cool Jeep/Eagle brochure back around '88 (now missing with the sands of time), haven't been able to find one on ebay yet tho. |
