Apparently, the tops are white to reflect the sun.

I remember one time I had my Grandpa ask a UPS driver who made UPS trucks, since 5 year olds shouldn't talk to strangers :P

For some reason, I though he said it was Ford (t'was a long time ago, tho)

I thought the roofs were a translucent white to let sunlight in so they can see what they're doing in the back of the truck without needing additional lights.
