How did BMWs turn from stealthy, classy cars to the shit they make today? It's like trading a grey suit for a blinged clown outfit.

#6, I think the most useless and gaudy crap (X6, GTs of various shapes and sizes, the 2-series joke) came after him.

#7, Have you seen the 4GC?

a sedan between the 3 series sedan and 5 series. Pointless IMO.

#8, If you ask me, 75% of their range is useless. This drive to have any segment, no matter how small and non-fitting from a brand image perspective, filled with SOMETHING makes me simply shrug when I see most new cars. Back to BMW: who thought that putting their badge on a fucking FWD microvan (2-series) is a good idea? So jealous of Merc A- and B-class? It's like being jealous of a a once grand brand name that now churns out shit cars, looking worse than Hyundais, possibly of worse quality and 3x the price. At least the 1-series was unique because of RWD. Having said that, I find the fascia ugly as sin and having driven a 116i 8-speed for about 2 hours I'd never buy that: there is a BMW bagde but it drives like a wheelbarrow, sounds like shit, can't find a proper gear most of the time and in general feels nothing like my 20-year old beater. It drove very much like my company Opel Astra diesel wagon did: the ultimate chore machine.

I will never drive one of the new ones because their little control stick/knob/shifter thing scares me.

#12, Nothing to be worried about, it's just a needlessly fancy knob.

#13, "Needlessly fancy knob" is a phrase that also describes the typical modern BMW driver.

#10, Ultimate Deriving Machine... that's got to be the best line in this conversation.
#14, Looks like #10 has some competition on the "best line" front...
