I always wonder. Is it possible to drive these fast/hard? Or is it just for looks? Some of you may be offended, but to me it looks like a jet engine strapped to a dog that's rolling on slicks.

#1, HOW DARE YOU!!!!! :p
I can guarantee you a build like this is mostly for show, sure you probably could drive it pretty fast and have some fun cruising around the main drag but you have to realize that it's pretty much just a bathtub with wheels and a hugely powerful mill and if you wipe out or lose traction in it I can also guarantee you'll be toast. |

#2, Hm, I see it has drum brakes... I imagine this is a bit like a 50s Grand Prix car performance and handling wise...? |

#3, I really couldn't tell you but I imagine it could handle quite well if it were equipped properly and driven correctly. But I doubt it's owner takes it to the track very often, if at all. |

#4, So it's like the Spruce Goose (sp?)? Making small jumps but never actually flying? |

T-buckets were originally built for drag purposes, so they're more quick than anything. Handling is probably passable, given their light weight, but with a solid front axle, generally drum brakes, and odd weight distribution, I don't think I'd take one on a autocross course.
Most people who build them today build them for cruising purposes. They're a sort of fun that can't be expressed with mere numbers. |
