I have to admit, much of my love/hate of cars comes down to styling mainly... and somewhat based on what I've read/heard/seen of the vehicles in how they perform in road/track tests... (well, not "Road & Track tests" specifically, even though that's the one magazine I read regularly)

#19, After double checking, apparently this is so. I was under the impression he hated them, just like he seems to hate everything American.

#14, Oh I've heard them before, I am just reciting old knowledge. I've loved the Viper since before puberty and probably always will, but you're welcome to your opinion. I understand why you hate them but I personally don't lay judgement that serious on a vehicle until I've been in one.

#24, I've been in a Viper GTS, least comfortable car I've ever sat in. Took me a few minutes to find the door handle to get out.

#25, Thanks. Then again I guess I could say that I do outright hate a good amount of vehicles that I've never driven, hell no one can possibly like every make and model of automobiles. Like DiRF my initial opinion of vehicles hinges mostly on their styling, but there are lots of ugly vehicles on the road that handle great and likewise there are a bunch of good looking vehciles that couldn't get out of their own ways. What I'm trying to say is that people shouldn't be forced into liking vehicles even if they are widely praised.

#26, Yeah but you hate everything that isn't a Pontiac 6000, your opinion is null and void! :p

#27, I like a lot of cars, you just don't see them very often :P
Basically I judge a vehicle based on the same criteria you do, and I love the Viper but I can't sit in it. I fit in a C5 Corvette perfectly, though...

#28, I've never been in a Viper (that'll change when I buy one heh heh) but from what I understand their low stance and cramped interior doesn't combine for the most comfortable experience entering, sitting and exiting the vehicle. But fuck, it's a Viper! I'd happily have a seat made out of rusty nails. I have sat in a C4 Vette owned by a friend of a friend of mine, it was in the high school shop getting an oil change and after school me and a buddy sped around a little in it. It was pretty nice.

#29, C4, now THAT'S a hard car to get in and out of.

I also fit pretty well in the '02 Collector's Edition Trans Am I sat in once, but I doubt that's a car I'd ever buy.

Back in the '90s... I'd visit my father every summer and winter... it really was quite different... living down in Florida, getting in and out of my mother's tall Aerostar and Tracker, then go to Pennsylvania, and have to climb down into my father's '81 Corvette... even getting in and out of his Chrysler LHS felt awkward... as that was a pretty low-slung sedan.

#30, It was a kind of a pain getting in an out but my nature I'm the clumsiest two-left-feet motherfucker in the world so I didn't really hold it against the car. I could trip over my feet getting out of a city bus. The ride was nice though, I was able to sit comfortably and enjoy the ride.

#30, Well, the sills are a little awkward, yes. The main problem for me is how low Corvettes are; I tend to black out when I get out. :p

#34, The sills are what trip me up. The C4 is a prime example of a car I should hate but actually like quite a lot.

I've never much liked Corvettes (C4/C5/C6) because of the tech overload. I respect them as a great price/performance bargain but it's unlikely that I would ever buy one.

If I had the money I'd definitely buy a C5 or C6 Vette, espescially a Z06. But that's just the thing, if I had the money I'd be tempted to spend it on a Viper, Mustang or some similarly priced foreign speedster as well.

Of all Corvettes, it's because of personal experience that I love the late C3's oh so much... stupidly exagerrated fenders, child-bearing hips, T-tops, and you sit so low that you think your ass is on the asphalt... other than the Carter-era-choked 350 V8, they're marvelous.

I've driven my father's current C5 once, and I liked the fundamentals; I just wish they'd have done away with all the damn gadgets.

I like the Viper, raw American horsepower

Lord knows there's a magical cloud of Pixie Dust that hangs over the United States that makes it impossible for us to make a car that can handle.

Vipers are quite rare here, as well. Only see about 1 a month and they still excite me every time.
