duct tape and multiple bottles of oil: all you'll ever need to keep a car running forever*

*unless said car is a mitsubishi

Kind of reminds me of the plastic basket I took for Magnolia rally, which was far away and lasted two hard days.
2 bottles of engine oil, 1 bottle of transmission oil, around 5l of water, lots of duct tape and other types of tape, 2 tire irons (1 small, 1 big), big hammer, spare jack, a multitude of wrenches and other tools I stole from my dad, two strings and an additional spare wheel (outside of the basket, naturally). And a tool box always rides in the trunk.
In the end, I needed nothing at all. I was kicking back, eating sandwiches while I watched others frantaically wrenching, hammering and duct taping their cars. Odd.

#3, I can vouch for that. If I had had a parts car for the Mirage, it'd still be running today, but I don't have the space nor the tools, so off to the scrapyard it went.

Wow, quite an event... I'm amused by the beater Lexus.

dang - I could have competed with my 'ol 81 Malibu wagon...

the leaky windows, no speedo, rusted and bondo-ed rear quarters, the shot paint, rusted frame... at least the gas gauge worked! Plus it burned transmission fluid! And the first engine had a bad rod knock... oh yeah! I still miss it.

I think I could still fit my car there. Pre-rebuild french shot shocks, broken seat (I carried a tire behind it, to prop it up) and pre-rebuild body would greatly increase my chances I think. Actually, I'd need to combine the worst of both my shitboxes.
