A chain cutter would take care of most of these in an instant.

top left: if you take off relatively fast, something will break. fail.
top right: that just looks retarded, also see #1. fail.
bottom left: padlocks are easier to pick/destroy than door locks, auto fail.
bottom right: surprisingly this looks like the best method, but still mega fail solely on the fact that you look retarded.

37's suggestion would also work. bottom line: if someone wants your car bad enough, they WILL take it.

i have the easiest car to steal. not only do i not lock the beretta doors, the ignition doesnt need a key. however itll only start if you reach under the column and move the wires just right as you turn it.

I think the idea behind these devices is to create enough inconvenience that a thief looking for a quick score will probably not bother trying to fuck with a padlock or chains or whatever.

outside anti-theft stuff only shows people that you have something to steal.

I remember when I went to New York several years back on a bus, driving through one of the bad areas, nearly every car had a club.

I'm not a huge investor in car security either, I don't usually keep my doors locked unless I'm in a crappy neighborhood late at night, but I really don't have anything in or on my car that people would want to steal i.e: fancy wheels, sound system.
