the Vibe is a pretty nice looking car up close, but the interior looks too cramped to compete with the Plymouth PT Cruiser.(whoops, I said it like it ought to be, not like it is...) I mean Chrysler PT Cruiser...

Sorry Pic is so small.. but anyways.. This is Pontiacs new mini SUV called a "Vibe".. to me it looks like a cross between a Ford Focus and and one of those new Aztecs (blech)..
But cute nontheless.. ok car specs:
Vibe Base Model - 1.8 liter, 4 cylinder, DOHC Variable Valve Timing-intelligence (VVT-it), 130 hp (VVT-it = domestic Vtec?) 5 spd man, 4 spd auto
Vibe GT - Same stuff.. cept 180 hp and 6 spd man and 4 spd auto..
Comes in 8 diff. colors - Frost (white), Salsa (dark red), Lava (bright red), Neptune (dark blue), Shadow (dark grey), Abyss (black), Satelite (silver) and Evny (HOT PEA SOUP GREEN.. WTF?!?!)
Ah well.. whaddya think?

Well, it's still ugly, but it's a VAST improvement over the Aztec. Ever notice that the Aztec is supposed to be a good vehicle, but hasn't sold to expectations due to extreme ugliness? Doesn't that sound just a little like the Edsel?

I know Max, it's depressing...but, soccer moms have to have their "trendy" family vehicles, right?

Pontiac is shooting itself in the foot. One of my cars is a 2000 Sunfire and it's great. I want a Grand Am next. Prix's are good cars. BUT WHY DISCONTINUE THE BEST CAR, A FIREBIRD? For what? Gas guzzling, butt ugly SUV's that sit too high, blind people in NORMAL vehicles when the follow anyone, take up too much of a parking space, and give the drivers a bad attitude. SUV's seem to come equipped standard with a BAD ATTITUDE. The Vibe is not an SUV, but it is a bad direction for a once quality car company to head in.

Pontiac Vibe = Toyota Matrix = 4Door Celica Station wagon. I've seen the ads for these cars, and they're all about how "unclassifiable" they are. It's a slightly fast station wagon. Deal with it. btw, 16.6 1/4 stock.

Remember the old "We build driving excitement" slogan? I miss that era at Pontiac. Fast, attractive Bonnevilles, Grand Prixs, Firebirds, even the Sunfire was all right. Now they just suck. They need to ditch all this crossover BS and bring back the Firebird. Then, when the Grand Prix gets redesigned, build a high-performance model and call it a GTO. It'll sell like hotcakes if it's got any balls at all.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the F-body kill was a mercy kill, they didn't want the Ass-Tek designers getting a chance at ruining it.

And it's just pontiac, the New Buick Rezdevouz looks actualy quite good, and it's built on the same Aztec platform I'm guessin' if shape is anything to go by, but eeech, they screwed up big time on that one.

Everybody's forgotten the Pontiac Dustbuster, er... Silhouette. And the early 80's LeMans before that... the engineers at Pontiac must have some obsession with making odd-looking dustbustery vehicles. The Vibe is just the next in line.

I thought the sihouette was an Olds product? the pontiac minivan is the Montana, and it's not that bad actualy.

Well, the Pontiac minivan started out as the Trans Port. (Why in the hell is there a space? gotta love the Pontiac naming department...) Then it became the Trans Port Montana, and then finally, it's now just the Montana. Has anybody seen the new Montanas that have "ram-air style" hood scoops? Ick.

Nope... the Silhouette debuted in about 1990? 91? Somewhere in there. I agree about the Montana... isn't it just a Venture clone, though?

Yeah, aside from Grand Am style waffle-board around the bottom, you can't tell em' apart. I think your thinking of the Transport, a re-badged Chevy Lumina APV, I remember them when they were new, and I thought they looked interresting, but the public hated em' if sales figures are anything to go by.

Hey, if all of us can get together and agree Pontiac is making ugly cars, then who are they polling with thier new ideas? And if these are the most liked, I shudder to think what got left on the drawing board, it's gonna give me nightmares.
