That is seriously one of the awesomest things I've ever seen in professional racing.

That is all kinds of ridiculous. I love it.

Seeing the Fiat sponsorship brings to mind a point... it really is quite astonishing, Fiat's turnaround from the brink of bankruptcy 6 or so years ago, to the major successful world player in the global car market it is today. The new Panda and 500 are so well-engineered and built, that Ford actually tapped Fiat to "borrow" that platform to build their new Ka on.

...and speaking of the build-quality, they're getting close to being on par with the Japanese, which is outstanding for an Italian car firm.

#2, i doubt anyone else in a race will ever be in a position to see the top of his head. The view is either backsides, or track.

#6, That's true, note they have no mirrors.
Still, it's great xD

#5, A few weeks ago I was working at a private tourist rally and there was a new Bravo navigating an autocross course. I squint and see what I think are foglights going on and off. I think 'a-ha! this is a true Fiat, brand new but the gremlins are already there'. Turns out it was a corner lightning system (or somesuch). Whooops. In other news I drove a 1.3 turbo diesel Panda around the same course and it felt great.
