My understanding was that they only came in black because having only 1 color sped up production, and black paint dries the fastest. |

I think it was only the first two or three years of production (up until 1912 or so) that came in multiple colors. A lot of later Ts have been repainted, though. |

I also think that for the first couple of years the T's were hand made. |
