#3, It just sounds wrong in french. You know strong mustard ? Well we call it moutarde forte. It's the feminine diminution of strong in french (if that sentence made any sense, I'm glad).

So is it "forte" (pronounced "fort," commonly mispronounced as "fortay") meaning speciality, eg. "Acting isn't my forte"?

Or is it "forte" (pronounced "fortay"), a dynamic of music that means "loud" or "strong?"

It's pronounced "fuh-rtt" (in one word) and means something feminine that is strong.
