The three types of police Chargers I see most often... on the side of the road, I mean, not, uh, coming after me, obviously :P

With that bullbar, I wonder if the Sheriff's office is contemplating taking that thing to the Baja 1000 :P

#1, Same thing I was thinking. That's not a bullbar, it's a freaking BRUSH GUARD.

The State car's paint scheme would look pretty cool on a '57 Chevy 150, IMO.

It's no thing of beauty, that's for sure. Reminds me of a 3D model someone was too lazy to texture properly so the texture sheet is just solid black with white text haphazardly applied. Maybe they should have gotten an art student to do it like the city of Benicia, CA did. They hired one of my classmates to do their logo and it ended up on the police cars. Dunno if she did the whole police car livery though.

I can imagine the exchange if she got pulled over. "How can you give me a ticket? I designed the side of your squad car!"

I kinda like the simplicity of the SBPD paintscheme... not a fan of paintschemes that use "modern" lettering and colors... that'll end up looking heavily dated in a few years time.

An idea for this thread... what are the local/county/state police cars for where you're from? Chargers as examples would be preferred :P

Used Flickr for all these images... great resource for finding police liveries.

I can't find any photos of Clarke County police vehicles (I live right on the Clarke/Lauderdale County line, but the Clarke side), though their cars look a lot like Lauderdale County police cars, except they use Crown Victorias, whereas Lauderdale uses Chargers (and at least one old Crown Vic that they haven't retired yet).

Lauderdale County Charger: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8490341@N04/2789461119/

Typical Meridian City police unit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pluto665/2906563488/

Meridian Police van. This, along with their old Chevrolet step-van SWAT vehicle, pretty much never gets used, hence being so long on the job: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8490341@N04/2787866210/

The aforementioned SWAT van: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pluto665/2906563374/

#10, Is there a reason most of those jpgs refused to load in Firefox and had to be downloaded and opened in an external image viewer?

Well, the Sheriff's stickin' with the brushguards... http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/bcsocharger.jpg

[edit] ...and I like how the FHP incorporated the swoop of the scoop into their normal paintscheme... http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/fhpcharger.jpg

Heh... who knew, when I posted this, I'd end up working for the agency in the middle of the photo... for almost a half-decade. (Left one week before I would have been awarded a "five-year" pin)

The man that was Sheriff when I got hired was a fantastic public servant. Too bad he wasn't still Sheriff by the time I left... I prefer dedicated public servants rather than media-attention-grabbing politicians...
