Description:
My BMW 320i during my first rally in that car.
Total RWD noob and first time with some proper suspension and performance brakes: that, plus it's a daily driver. Anyway, at this point this car is waaay faster than me.

#21, Yeah, it was planned all along. That or a rebuilt/custom one if I had the money. I don't know where my life will take me: will it become my daily driver or will it be prepped for racing like I originally planned? For daily driving I will dial back on the mods slightly (softer/higher springs, road legal sports brake pads and standard DOT 5.1 brake fluid) and just keep it as original and in as good a condition as I can.
I still need to sort out little rust spots, that nagging WOT cooling problem, engine electronics/ignition, dial in the autogas, wash the upholstery, touch up the interior trim, take care of the little oil seepages, etc. etc...

#23, And like a 15$ whore, she lets me down. Very sick, seems one cylinder is not firing and possibly there is a mixture problem. I hope it's something electronic that can be solved with a junkyard ignition coil and a set of new plugs rather than, say, a valve that does not fully close. I know that the valve cover gasket seeps oil into one spark plug socket, so it needs to be replaced too. Bad bad things for an unemployed inline-6 owner.

#24, Unemployed? I thought you were working? :( Sorry to hear that, both about the job and the car.

#25, I worked for a little over 2 months as a warehouse worker. It was an arranged job, I was supposed to work in this position only for a short while and be fast tracked to Stock Admin. Turns out heavy manual labor (I've lost 16kg in 2 months) does not suit my joints, especially my knees: at least not with my current weight. I have rheumatoid arthritis which has been treated into an inactive state and I got really scared that the stress will get it rolling again. That, plus wage slave contract, general incompetence (laugh, but it pisses me off so badly I could scream) and the hazy promotion prospects meant I quit.

#26, I've been delivering dry cleaning the last couple months. It suits me fine for the most part, and the pay is adequate, but likewise my joints and feet don't like the heavy lifting (yes, clothes get heavy when you have to deliver 20+ shirts and pants and suit jackets and stuff on hangers to the same customer) and lots of jumping in and out of a van and walking and stairs. The increased physical activity has helped me drop 4-5 lbs, though I'd like to lose more weight to help preserve my knees and joints.
I wish you luck in finding another job, hopefully something that your master's degree will help you earn more money in. :) And if that fails, I bet you'd be the quickest delivery driver in Poland. :P

#27, I also have a postgraduate degree in logistics: so far this has proven useless, to my surprise. I might take up a delivery/van driver job, the thing that scares me is - how to put this - sliding down the social/income ladder. I always thought there is not much sliding down but after my stint in that warehouse: holy shit, was I wrong.

Since my dad's car was in the shop, we were kind of forced to use the Beemer for our annual trip to the Baltic coast. It performed flawlessly save for popping the indicator/flasher fuse twice. I was kind of worried about the comfort with 4 people + luggage on board but this supension kit is simply the shit. We took the scenic route (read: the shittiest roads in Poland) and it did scrape a few times but that's what you get if you drop the car. I probably will shell out for the softer/higher spring option in the end. MPG on autogas: 20-24.

So I've got a job, back in the Bombardier dealership I worked in 2 years back and hated it... the money is still shit.
I need to get it in the body/paint shop before the winter. It's nothing serious now but there are a few problem areas that need to be secured before the car will have to wade through thousands of tons of salt for 3 months.

The car is in the shop. Needs new front panels, as was expected. The rocker panels have a sponson-like structure and they only start at the A pillar, they need some work as well. Strangely, the left hand side is worse and actually has a small hole in it. The source seemed to be mud trapped under plastic fenderwell covers, rather typical. The floor looks good and will likely need just minor work (scrape, secure, paint), I hope that taking the rear bumper off will not reveal anything horrible. Since I'm cash strapped, the fron fenderwells will be secured with heavy oil, the quarters bolted back on and I'll get the front of the car done in spring. After securing all the closed spaces and fixing paint chips, I hope the body will not need any more work for 3-4 years save for inspections. As for the quarters, I will be looking at clean originals and getting them painted: I don't trust repros.

The polished paint looks a lot better but it has not been fixed as I wanted. It's so fucking painfully difficult to find a shop that won't fuck you over, I blame the Soviets for this fucking business mentality >:(

So I lent the car to my dad and... he crashed it. Well, kinda. During the recent bad weather spell he got pushed off the icy road by the wind. He spun 270 degrees and ditched, trunk first. It happened at 20kph but there is still some cosmetic damage, including a crease on the rear left panel just under the turn signal. Small but impossible to fix without bondo and it fucking pisses me off.

#37, Shit, when it happened I was on the phone with my mom. She screamed for something like 45 seconds. Call me dumb, but beacuse the scream was so long I knew they were OK.
I'm in a bit of a crisis with the car, some weird ignition (?) problem appeared and the cooling system still misbehaves when the car is flogged. At the moment I have to get the suspension inspected and finish rust protection/repair in the spring. I'm worried I cannot get a 'clean' month (as in: not having any work done on it) so I can calculate if I can actually afford this car. There is still a long list of minor things to fix. I just want it to be mechanically perfect, maybe this is my problem :(

OK, this time I crashed the car. Nothing major from the functional standpoint but now it's even more cosmetically fucked. I'm just about ready to spray paint it matte black and moon walk over the roof. I'll try to get some photos off my cell later.

The crash vid: http://youtu.be/LZr-vNMiWMo?t=5m12s
I hit the barrier with the back end, it jumped up and somehow managed hit the left front door, window (did not break: miracles DO exist) and rocker panel.
