Shame about the door/rocker rot, though it doesn't look terminal yet.

#3, I'm pretty happy with my old Beemer's body but I'm sure I simply haven't found all the bad spots yet. Fingers crossed, though...

#4, What really amazes me is cars that are 1/3 the age of my old camaro (1986 vs say, a 2003, 2004) that are somehow rusted-out twice as bad......

Don't EVER buy a J-body Coupe, I haven't seen one yet that's made it this far without the quarterpanels behind the doors going bad, and not just a little paint bubble bad, I mean holes you can put a fist through....

#7, Can't you register a used car from another state in PA if it's a certain age or mileage and has state inspection or whatever?

#8, I believe he was saying the difficulty of moving a car from California to Pennsylvania would be not so easy. You can register a car from anywhere in Pa. My new Saab spent most of its life in Florida then trailored up here and registered in MD. I'm waiting on the title to register it in Pa.

Depends what county you live in. Mine doesn't put salt down and after seeing the inner bits of my Taurus being almost rust free I am happy with that.

Road salt this, road salt that... how about living in a humid beachside community where the air is about 50% salt THE ENTIRE YEAR? :P
