Yeah, isn't this officially the "SRT Viper" now? No Dodge branding whatsoever?

It's funny, they took the trucks away and made them their own brand because they thought it took away from Dodge's cool factor. So by that logic, if they are so worried about making the Dodge brand be all about the cool factor, wouldn't you want to keep the Viper as a Dodge?

#5, they're moving SRT products up market and giving them more differentiation between regular Dodges.

#6, It just cracks me up at their logic or lack their of. Take trucks away to make Dodge cars seem cooler, then take the cool cars away from Dodge to make more money from them.

#7, it worked for Mustang and the Shelby variants.

I think making Ram a different brand wasn't necessarily about making Dodge seem "cooler," but as a reaction to focus groups who only associated Dodge with trucks, and a lack of awareness that they make cars at all.

I really like this color with those wheels.

I like the car overall.

#9, "We need to continue to market as Ram so Dodge can have a different brand identity: hip, cool, young, energetic. That will not fit the campaign for truck buyers. The two should have distinct themes." Ram Division President Fred Diaz

To me it is just another reason why Chrysler should just die off. The company has had enough second chances but rather then build off them they just drag their products out and then do something like this to boost sales. If people have forgot Dodge made cars the big reason just might be the cars. Ford and Chevy both have no problems selling both cars and trucks under the same brand because they at least update their cars from time to time. I'm sure the new Dart will sell well for awhile but then if the tend holds they will just keep making the same car for the next 6 to 10 years till they have run it into the ground and have to start from scratch.

#8, But Ford isn't really trying to push Shelby as its own brand. If you take the "there's a Mustang in all of us" commercial it starts with a V6 and ends with a GT500. They are smart enough to know people will pay more for the name but not doing it in a way that just confuses the hell out of people
