I wouldn't mind a EV for my day to day stuff; it wouldn't bother me that it doesn't have 400HP.
But I suppose the worst characteristics of any automotive sub-culture can be summarized in the bumbper stickers that they put on their cars. Consider douche trucks and the bumper stickers they bear. It's the same feeling of repulsion you get when you see one of them that this Leaf does for me.
As a rule - I've never and will never use the back of my car as a platform for any statement apart from the plate.

#4, Thats the thing, I would keep that kind of stuff reserved for those who deserve it - IE Prius drivers who mouth off like that crazy lady on that video mouthing off a person simply parting their truck upwind
