Y'know, many have expounded on the C2 Corvette being one of the prettiest American cars ever built... and I don't disagree with them... but with the C3, GM absolutely nailed it AGAIN... I mean, these are just so ridiculously pretty and elegant... and with minor tweaks, it stayed aesthetically current for damn near 15 years.

#1, No argument here. I'm imagining driving a black-on-silver C3 with rims like this right now..... now, who do I have to kill to make it happen?!

I thought I was in the minority that liked all C3s. I love all off them. I want a pace car replica, or '72 Stingray :D

#3, I've always loved the early C3s, especially in blue, and the '78 Pace Car.

I dunno why, but my favorite C3s are probably the '74-'76 "notchback" coupes. A bright red one, with black interior, a 4-speed, Vector wheels, and a mildly built small block would make me very happy.

#8, I know why... it's the buttresses! I love the Jag XJ-S for the same reason... and the early Dinos...

#9, FWIW: "It's the buttresses!" sounds like a lost line of dialogue from a Monty Python sketch.

#11, Del Sol, I like too, for the same reason *hides*.

SINNERS! All of you!

The C3's are teh suck bodystyle. C2, C4, C6, C7 are all that matter. All the rest can go to hell.

Speaking of buttresses: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...e_blue_rear.jpg

Although they were actually far more pronounced on the original concept: http://socalamx.net/1/theamxstory/AMXprot2.jpg

#14, I'd probably own any gen of Corvette, but C1, C2, C3, and C7 are the only ones I love aesthetically.

Buttresses? I'll nominate the 1968-70 Charger and '66-67 Pontiac Tempest/LeMans/GTO. And of course the various coupe utilities have them as well.

I seem to be the only one in this thread who likes the C5.

#17, I like the C5. Not on my list of must-own... but I do like them. I like the hardtops best though.

#17, On its own, the C5 is a fine car. Massive improvement over the C4... but then the C6 came along...

...and now even the C6 doesn't look quite as good with the release of the C7...

#14, The C4? Really? I mean, ok, for its era it was, I guess, ok...
