They only made a couple of hundred Charger 500s, I think. They made about 1500 Daytonas. I'll find out tomorrow morning (I've got a book, but I don't feel like rooting around in my dark storage building to find it) and post it on here.

Okay, it was 392 Charger 500s built in '69 (67 had Hemis), and 503 Charger Daytonas built in '69 (around 70 had Hemis). |

Skid, I just verified your count, according to Chrysler Corp. itself, 503 Charger Daytonas were built, in various forms (HEMI powered w/ manual being the rarest)
However, others say that due to incomplete records and other problems in assigning VIN's, as many as 560 or as few as 386 may have been built, the real answer is no one knows for sure, but certainly somewhere near the 500 mark

The real question is why this guy sprang for a Charger Daytona but not a Hemi to go with it. |

#28, Well, the Hemi would cost you an extra $1000, the 440 was a cheaper engine that wasn't a whole lot worse at all |

#30, Sounds about right. Especially if it was a Hemi.
Welcome to Riceornot, BTW.
