Probably one of the oddest and most-recognizable cars in race history

The Charger 500 does NOT have the sharklike front end or the huge wing. Only the Daytona does.

I remember it had been said on here once before that the wing on the Superbird was actually connected very strongly to the structure of the car, perhaps even into the frame or something. Is the same true for the Charger Daytonas?

The Daytona 500 is a race. The Charger Daytona is basically a Charger 500 with the wing, fender air vents (Those things popping up on either side of the hood), and the sharklike nose added on.

Then this is a real Charger 500 made to look like a Charger Daytona, or an actual Charger Daytona, and the owner doesn't know the name of the car correctly.

There WAS a Charger 500, it was a standard race Charger that engineers fiddle with by filling in several areas of the body, notably the rear window areas and front grille, but it had no wing, the Charger Daytona (wing version) was a further aero refinement of the Charger 500, those humps above the wheels in front are actualy vents that keep air pressure from building up inside the wheels at race speeds, thus preventing suspention travel, kinda insane huh? fewer than 2000 examples of both the SUperbird and Daytona were produced, and they were made for one year only, the Daytona in 69' the Superbird in 70'
