#17, More accurately, I think the Civic would skid around the corner, whereas this guy could afford to slow down drastically, turn the corner, and punch it before the Civic ever regained traction. |

#21 - but Civics are the ULTIMATE handling machines... even though they are FWD, nose heavy, and not really designed for handling in the first place.... |

They can be made to handle OK (vis. the Japanese Type R model), but your average Civic on the street is not built for that. |

There's a reason every single race car built is rear-wheel-drive. |

#25, Except for the ones that are AWD.
I seem to recall that somebody experimented with a FWD indy-car a very long time ago (60's?). If I'm not imagining this, I recall that it didn't work out too well; bit of a widowmaker. |

#26, Aside from rally cars and a couple of specials that didn't really pan out I can't think of any AWD race cars. |

True; I was thinking specifically of rally cars. |

Actually, I was exaggerating a bit... BTCC cars are front-wheel-drive. Of course, everyone knows that's just a stepping stone to a real racing series. |

ANd also someone with a car like this is most likely smart enough to know the limits of his car and not push it to hard, and also this car isnt trying to do anything it wasnt meant to do, unlike 99% of the import crowd. |

And i bet ya it took less money to get this thing going as fast as it can than it would take some civic to get into the 11's. |

if I was going real fast - even in a straight line, I would rather do it in this tank then a teeny pop-can metal civic! |

This thing isnt trying to do what it wasnt meant to do, it isnt set up for cornering.
So shut up about the god damned old cars not handling like a civic can!
And in actuality i found that a 97 or so Civic can pull .68 G's in the skidpad whilst a 70 Challenger T/A can pull .82 and yet everyone says the civic can outhandle the "Old outdated Rust bucket" or what other term they like to use. |
