Funny that the old V6 SHOs were actually faster than the V8s. I think because they were lighter. |

Front-drive V8s can't be too common (although I wouldn't be too surprised if Cadillac made a few). |

Oh yeah, that's about all Caddy has made for the past 20 years. |

Yeah, Olds made a few FWD V8s too. The late-70s Rivieras, for example, and the Aurora. |

I would have liked the Olds Aurora more if they hadn't totaly screwed up the styling, I valet parked for a summer job once, that was the most ergonomicaly uncomfortable and eye-stingingly ugly thing I ever saw or drove, hands down, too bad a great engine went to waste on it |

I hear the front seats in them were real butt-pinchers. |

My problem was the A-Pillar was in the perfect conk-your-noggin position when getting in and out, and the view from the drivers seat was akward because of the way it sloped in at a curvy angle, also, it has fugly factory rims, taillights that look like a semi-molten neon blob, cancerous looking headlights, and a not-to-impressive tan color. I only had to drive it twice, and that was plenty, the verdict - It was designed by crack-addled chimps |

Well, it was a contemporary GM car, so that makes sense. |

Considering it was from the same division that once had cars like the Toronado, 442 and Cutlass in it's lineup, it was sickening, I"d take a rusty late 70's Delta 88 over that thing any day |

Heh, I'd take a rusty late '70s Delta 88 over a lot of things. That would be a lot of fun.
I used to have a green '72 Delta 88 that was beat all to hell, but had a great engine (only 72,000 miles). It was solid and rust free, but covered in dents and dings (it belonged to my late grandfather, who drove like he was blind). I got it after he died, then my parents needed money and sold it for $1000 bucks to a guy they knew (I was a teenager at the time). Last I heard of the car, some black guy in a town near me had put 18" rims and a stereo in it and was cruisin' all over.
I sure do miss that car. |

I just want a car that has 4 cleary-recognizable corners, a flat roofline, quad headlights, RWD, and gobs of torque, the rest is negotiable.............. |

saw a '94 SHO for sale for $3800 and only 86k miles... should I pick it up? I'm not a big fan of FWD,
but would like to drive it in the snow and haul the family around if I have to... |

Silly question, but it's been much on my mind: Is SHO prounced as an acronym ("Show"), or is it S.H.O.? |

I had a teenage girl come into my work a few weeks back asking me if I could take a look at her "sho car". thats what she called it. I had no idea what she was talking about until I went outside and saw the Taurus :P |

I had never heard of the SHO until several years ago when I first subscribed to Car and Driver, and people were writing them letters about the SHO. The section of letters was titled, "Say It Ain't SHO", so as a result I've always pronounced it as "Show", but I've been wondering lately if that's right or not. |

#38, "Oh, so you've got a Taurus show car huh? *cough**cough*ricebitch*cough**cough*."
Well, that'd be my reaction anyway. Then I'd feel really stupid when I went outside. :) |
