My 79' F-body Project car as it looked right off the trailer, rescued it from certain death in New Jersey where it was rotting in a back yard, hope to finish it in a year or so

#4, Came stock (according to VIN) with a 301, had a junkyard 305 in it when I got it, building a 383 for it

LTR, I have three suggestions for the buildup.

1: Centerlines.
2: A metallic paintjob. Something dark, like maroon.
3: Sidepipes. They're *perfect* on 2nd generation Firebirds.

I'm kinda pissed at 383s right now, but good luck with it, dude.

1. I was thinking centerlines from the get-go, good call
2. Metallic Blue was my first choice upon seeing the car, poop brown is so 70's, going to paint the bumpers and spoiler/air dam a highlight color that would compliment it, like grey or white....
3. We'll see, I never thought about that..............

#8, Oh, the 383 runs, we have it on a stand running and broken in, just waiting for the rest of the car to catch up with it

#9, Metallic blue would look even better, I just recommended maroon because it's a little closer to the same paintjob. Then again, if you're masking off, stripping, and repainting the whole car (you probably will be due to the rust problem you've mentioned), that wouldn't matter much.

Look for GM Nightshade Blue, that's a dark, rich shade.

#13, The whole thing is being repainted, I have it all torn down to the rear unibody and frame, so I can get into all the nooks and cracks and sutch, but yeah, I just saw the car and thought "Blue" right away

BTW, anyone want to buy a Camaro? Mine's for sale, $2300 OBO. I'm taking a correspondence course in auto repair now, and I need something crappy to practice on. So the money from the Camaro will fund another car plus parts.

Isn't the interior brown? Brown doesn't match with much except for brown. How are you going to work that out? Redo it in another color?

#16, Nope. Shipping my car that far would probably cost more than I'm asking for it. ;)

#15, I like the front clip.

I could paint it red and throw it on mine (due to the dent). But it just wouldn't look right.

#19, It's from a Camaro Sport Coupe. If you know where to look, they aren't hard to find.
