Very impressive. However, what bothers me is that the article it came from made it sound like the 4.2 is a completely different engine than the 3.8. It's not, from what I can tell--just different internals.

I just pulled up the stats on a 4.2 F150 and compared it to a 3.8 'Stang. Interestingly, it does not have higher compression. Cool.

I figured that, although the F150's internals should be stronger, the compression would likely be higher due to longer stroke, making it a more difficult choice for supercharging or turbocharging.

#10, The backstory #1 says that the car got hit by flying debris kicked up by a wind. Something hit the windshield.

#19, Yeah, especially for a car that runs 15s stock, with an engine that's not exactly known for performance.
