Very impressive. However, what bothers me is that the article it came from made it sound like the 4.2 is a completely different engine than the 3.8. It's not, from what I can tell--just different internals. |

I just pulled up the stats on a 4.2 F150 and compared it to a 3.8 'Stang. Interestingly, it does not have higher compression. Cool. |

I figured that, although the F150's internals should be stronger, the compression would likely be higher due to longer stroke, making it a more difficult choice for supercharging or turbocharging. |

#12, yeah but with all the work that went into this, why not just go ahead and swap in a V8 |

#16, Specifically, it's a V6 with an F150 bottom end (4.2, just different internals in the 3.8 block) and a supercharger, exhaust, etc. |

#19, Yeah, especially for a car that runs 15s stock, with an engine that's not exactly known for performance. |
