#2, Well, at least it has a flat torque curve and a nice broad powerband.

#3, Indeed. Lot of extra room in there with a stock engine, especially the 232.

#6, Needs a Supercoupe bottom end, girdled mains, massively ported intake and heads, and a supercharger. Or, yeah, a 302 or 351. :-)

#9, That would be pretty funny, but I can't imagine anybody who'd really be crazy enough to do that with a 3.8. The previous generation was notorious for blowing gaskets if you so much as looked at them.

Now I don't know if this is true or not, but my friend with the 94 GT reads all these Mustang magazines and they made a bone stock 2002 V6 5speed run a 14.9, is that possible?

#16, Oh, yeah, the basic reason for that problem (Head gaskets on 3.8s prior to 1995) is a simple one. First, it's a cast iron block, with aluminum heads. This means that the metal in the block and heads tends to expand at different rates when heated. Second, they had too many independent cooling channels that went all the way to the top of the block, so the interface between the cylinder head and the block resembled Swiss cheese. Third, Ford used cheap head gaskets. So, up to '94 or so, they tended to eat head gaskets by the 100,000 mile mark. After that, they redesigned the block a bit, with less-complicated cooling jackets around the cylinders, so the newer blocks may be sturdier.

#17, That's about half a second slower than a V8 Mustang without about 60 or so less horsepower. Could be.
