I just wish it didn't have that crap on the exterior. I think 14s is managable without a hood scoop. By the way, I just realized what a nice sleeper an Aerostar would make....oooh, I'm getting ideas! |

Friend of my father's years ago had an old cream-colored Beetle with a Mopar 413 in the place of the back seat.

And in my opinion, the ultimate sleeper would be a Chevette with Buick Grand National running gear (Hooker makes a kit for it). There's a white '78 four-door with faded paint, no engine, and a bunch of garbage in the back behind a shop near my house....I'm starting to get ideas again....If street versions of the GN can run 9s, imagine what the same engine in a 1500 lb. car would do. >:)

More good sleeper ideas: 1. Toyota Cressida with a Supra Turbo drivetrain. 2. K-car with a 2.2/2.5 Turbo. 3. Ford Fairmont wagon with your choice of appropriate V8. 4. Big block Dodge Aspen or Plymouth Volare. 5. Turbocharged Mazda 323 GT motor in a Festiva. Any one of these is doable with off the shelf parts. Then there's the possiblity of getting a fast import and making it look like the work of a clueless riceboy. |

"I think 14s is managable without a hood scoop"
It's got a blower...the hood scoop is pretty much necessary i imagine. |

14.88 is probably fast for a Van, but still nowhere near a respectable time slip. I've seen this thing driving around. Am I the only one who think this looks incredibly stupid? |

The ultimate sleeper, in my opinion, would be a VW bus with a Ferrari Formula 1 engine in it. But how likely is that to happen? |

Or maybe, if we wanted to get a LITTLE more extreme than that, a Viper V10 crate engine... |

I've seen 427 VW bugs. My personal favorite "holy shit" sleeper was either a Supra powered Tacoma, or that twin mill Hyundai. I've seen both, and they are both scary. No-one expects a stock-looking tacoma to beat a Z06 hands down... |

Assuming money was no object sure, but since a BB Ford crate engine runs 7 or 8 Thou. I shudder to think what a 10 will cost ya. |

And I've always been partial to mid 80s wood paneled station wagons running super or turbocharged smallblocks... |

I know a guy who's got a 4-door Lumina in the 11s on street tires... but he's got ground effects on it and custom paint, so it's not THAT good of a sleeper. Shocked the hell out of me when he spanked my Thunderbird. But then I raced him in the twisties and found out his car doesn't handle for shit. Ate me alive in the straights, but I pulled away bigtime in curves. |
