#48, i think what he's implying is that nike owns you from a loyalty perspective.
YOU as a CUSTOMER are loyal to a corporation which cares more about profit than its customers.
by customers i mean you and people who buy nike shoes. not the clientel (athletes who get nike stuff free and play a role in R&D)

#54, yes thank you for insinuating that I'm cheap, I payed less (by ~$30 probably) for the shoes I have now (adidas) and they have lasted me at the very least twice as long as the best pair of nikes I ever had

i was very materialistic during middle school. i had to have all tommy hilfiger stuff, the newest nike airmax etc. the cool thing about private school is you cant really compete with fashion when everyone wears the same thing. as a result i can honsestly say i dont care to follow trends anymore and dont care what people think of my appearance. i feel i'm a better person in that regard now. to quote pantera "FUCK THE TREND! THE TREND IS DEAD!"
i can see now how stupid it was to throw away money like that. buying 150 dollar shoes every 3 months. coincidentally that was the average shelf life of my nikes before they started falling apart. my adidas' are even worse. i think new balance and solomon has the best overall quality for athletic shoes.
