You'd make it a hot rod? Dumbass! This car is probably worth $500,000-$1,000,000 as is. I'd sell it to someone who wants a museum piece and then buy a few dozen Boss Mustangs and Mopar wing cars.

get an OPEL GT those things are cool... plus their Small Size makes them look like they are going much faster! saw a 9 second Opel and it looked like it was goingto run a 7!

Yeah, no joke. Cool-ass car, but tragically underpowered. What did the 9-second one have in it? That's a pretty small engine bay... maybe a Thunderbird Turbo Coupe engine?

Hmmm... that pretty much destroys sleeperness, doesn't it? And the handling would have to have been affected negatively. I still like my TC idea.

Iceman, Max, be realistic. It's one of the many Cobra Daytona KITS floating around. There were only 8 of the real ones made! And with Carroll Shelby still alive I'm sure they're all spoken for. If he'll sue people for the rights of the Cobra (a car AC built anyway) I'm sure he knows exactly where all 8 of his babies are.

Though it would be nice to believe you could find something like that in a barn somewhere. Kinda like the whole Rush "Red Barchetta" thing. I love that song.

I've heard the whole story behind this car, the struggle for it's ownership still makes national news. Yes, it's a genuine Daytona Coupe. It'll find a good home someday.

Like I said, it makes national news. Everytime the people go to court over it, CNN Headline news does a short piece on it. Car and Driver also did an article on it not too long ago.

So why doesn't Shelby own it yet? He's got the cash to buy it from all but the highest diety. Does he just not give a shit, or is there some legality involved?
