Description:
Here's another bright idea by Nissan: let's have a moonroof that only people sitting on the center console can see out of, is too narrow to let any light in, and makes the car look like that it has a useful carrying handle that pops out of the top (picture a briefcase). |

I don't like that they've done to the Maxima this time. The re-skin that they did in 2000 (or about that time) was OK, but took some getting used to. This is just ugly. |

#5, The rear end is too large, and the car just has a bulbuous shape in general. The front is the part that absolutely kills it, though. |

I've noticed that most of the new Nissans have an ugly chrome grille insert. I guess they're following in Chevy's trend of using the same front end across the board no matter how ill-fitting or how bad it looks on some models. |

For some reason, the SC430 doesn't offend me as badly as it used to (I absolutely hated it when it came out), but it still sucks that Lexus had to axe the SC300/SC400 line to introduce the 430. After all, I love big RWD coupes. |

The one thing I do still love about Nissan is that they've continued to make some pretty good engines. My mother had a few Maximas with the 3.0L "VQ" engines, and they've just continued to improve them with the 3.5L line. Torquey little engines, and the sound is pretty distinctive. Shame (assuming they're the same in this regard as the 3.0L) that the octane requirements are ridiculous.

If you got a Maxima without this roof thing (it's an option) then put an aftermarket grille on it would look good. I still think I like the last generation better though.

I didn't like the last generation at first, but the look really grew on me. |
