#39, I believe stang is trying to say that if you spend another $1600 you could have a V8 under there. Re-read it closely.

#41, Well, I had a helluva time scrounging up the FIRST $1600 (borrowed a LOT from my mom, the rest was 3 months wages working part time at McD...) The next $1600 isn't going towards a car that'll probably rust to nothingness in a year or so, just to make it faster.

#42, That's what sand paper and rattle-can primer is for.

PLAN AHEAD!

#44, Bah...I'm lazy. I'll react rather than plan ahead... if it starts leaking, I'll use duct tape.

Chewing gum may be useful to you.

I need to get me some WD-40 too...them there door has been squeaking...

I guess I'm not a true redneck, I WANT to use duct tape and WD-40 as fix-alls, but I don't have either at the moment on hand...

WooHoo, Duct Tape here I come! Driving my car to work in the rain, I here a *drip drip drip*, look over, there's a puddle in my passenger seat...the rust has finally opened part of the roof...

...gotta duct tape that hole...

#48, UPDATE: I've slapped a bunch of this stuff on the roof http://multimedia.mmm.com/mws/media...a000UDR419999z-
...and hopefully that'll stop the leaking problem. YES, I know the rust will continue get worse underneath the tape, but this car isn't exactly a long term investment, I just don't wanna be rained on while I'm inside it.

Are there signs of rust anywhere else, or just along the roof?

#50, "Are there signs of rust anywhere else?"

Lemme put it this way...the only place on the car NOT showing rust is the tires. You could say my car has a "bubbly" personality.

Oh yeah, this picture is quite a few months old...I just didn't finish up the roll of film until just recently.

Alrighty then. I assume you're planning on getting rid of it once either a) its resale value falls below the cost of your next tetanus shot or b) you scrounge up the cash?

#53, I'm planning on getting rid of it when the engine becomes FUBAR/KIA...or if the frame rusts in half, whichever comes first.

Good plan, except it's a unibody, so practically anything that can rust is technically part of the frame..

#55, Well shit. When the car breaks in half, then I'll consider getting another car.

#56, Yet another reason I don't want to leave this state. So long as it rolls under its own power, and most of the lights work, the officials don't care.

#58, ...don't forget, if it's REALLY obvious you don't have a muffler, they'll pull you over for that too. (both my sister and a friend's brother were each pulled over for having no muffler on their respective beaters.)
