#14, For some reason, a lot of the users on here went through a ricer phase. I never did. I never really even noticed the riceboy subculture until 1999 or so when I saw an Investigative Reports on street racing on A&E. These people were having all kinds of trouble tuning their cars to run 12s, and I kept asking myself "Well, why the hell are they tuning economy cars?"

I eventually came to accept the sport compact cars for what they are (not racecars), but I will always harbored a deep hatred for rice. Thank www.riceboypage.com and www.beaterz.com for that.

#18, More specifically, I'm the resident cynical vintage car fanatic and debating freak.

#17, Well...I wear Hawaiian shirts, flip flops, jeans, and sunglasses most of the time...but I hardly ever hang out at the beach (even though I can see it from my balcony)

Skid, I doubt you could give me a personal attack that would offend me. (without bringing up NASCAR.) I'm too lazy to respond to you, oh master debater.

I personally did it because I got stuck being only to afford a Neon after getting screwed by the insurance company after being hit on by a moron in an Eclipse. I thought...well, if I have a Neon, I should at least make it look a little different than the 10,000 other red Neons in my area. I did a few nice things to it, but I kinda regret the yellow and silver trim. I never put altezzas, rubber band tires, an airplane wing, or Kanji on it, so it really wasn't too bad other than the yellow. I got a LOT of compliments on it, especially my black tweed interior that I had a friend who builds race cars help me put in. My mom even offered to buy it when she needed a car but it had a lot of miles, so I found her a more reliable car.

At that point in my life it was the only way I could afford to have a car that I felt like was my own, without being able to get a V8 Mustang or muscle car to work on. I never thought it was a race car, I didn't drive it like it was, and never...
