you find it odd that an inexperianced driver ran a 10.79 second 1/8th mile?

#9, It is, I was just in a weird mood.

BTW, I think 10s in the 1/8th should work into 15s in the quarter. Doesn't sound right, but I think that's right.

#31, It's mid/high 16's. I think it would've been lower, except I think I bogged the launch--the 60' time isn't implausible, but it's a little on the high side, and I don't think I even chirped the tires, so I had plenty of traction left. And also, as I already said, the car was running like crap from sitting around heating up for so long.

I'm unlikely to bother with this stuff again until I've done something significant to the car; I know it could probably run faster than this with just some practice on my part (considering that it's possible to pull mid/low 15's in the 1/4 on a stock one), but I'd rather not break things on a car that doesn't even have 4K miles on it yet just to turn crappy times. Call me crazy.

#17, Ha! There were a bunch of G-bodies out there, and at least two Montes that I saw. One of 'em had a 383; owner claimed it was good for low 13s in the 1/4. Unfortunately, it was also creating enough smoke to scare off the mosquitoes. :-/

you could still take dirtbag
"1/8 mile - 10.999@65.75 mph"
of course that was before the T-stat mod

#34, Whoo, so now he's got a slow 305 that doesn't idle, whereas I have a complete lack of skill and a slow 232. I feel much better. :-P

I almost have an urge to sell the thing and buy an old Fox-body notch with $3500 worth of 302 or something. Meh.

Wow, I'm almost positive my car is faster than yours. Of course, I already know this. I've beaten 4 V6 mustangs on the streets already.
