Description:
I'm looking for a daily driver.
I have a chance to buy this.
Insurance would be less than an M3.
I can buy it right now.
Can you think of a reason not to?
And yes I'm nervous. It's a big decision. |

Why is the photo from a site that puts wheelchair ramps in vans? |

Honestly, if I had the money, and if I found a nice used NSX for cheap, I would buy it, assuming I had driven it and liked it. |

#25, owners' business website.
Honestly I don't know. I'm still in school and pay for that every semester, I'm still paying credit cards, (only about 2K remains though), and there's an investment opportunity coming up in next years 1st FY qtr that I'm really interested in.
I've been looking at an NSX for about 3 months now, and this is the best one. No problems, not high mileage, 5 speed, not in snap ring range, and within my price range. I need a car ASAP as I have nothing right now other than a family members' Lincoln LS, which is 1) not mine and 2) not always available.
Stuff that concerns me is using this as a daily driver - small trunk, aluminum body ($$$), civics want to race you, and my mechanic knows nothing about them, thus I'm stuck with Acura mechanics ($$$).
All I want is a RWD fun car that's reliable, and has REASONABLE INSURANCE RATES - thats the kicker. That eliminates the Z, VR4, Supra etc. Yes. Those cars are higher than an NSX - at least for me |

I'm having so many second thoughts.
The reasonable part of me says go get another Accord.
The have fun and dont be depressed when driving 45 miles a day part of me says - do whatever you can to get a fun car to make the commute and weekends more fun. |

#27, Buy a Cam3ro. :-P
Sounds like a fun car. Based on the other preferences you've mentioned in this thread and in the past (Z, Supra, etc.) I can't imagine you'd have a good time finding mechanics anyway--I mean, I don't often see those cars rolling down the streets, and the average mechanic probably doesn't see much of them, either. |

#28, Could you maybe compromise and get something like one of the V6 Accord coupes? Or a Maxima or something?
'97 Thunderbird!

I really don't know your circimstances (besides what you told us) but the adult in me would say search your other options (cars) first and think about it as long as possible, write down good and bad reasons for having it and the same for other cars you are thinging about, see what out weighs the other, are the bad things something you are willing to live with for a long time? I would have a hard time passing it up, but there are so many things to consider.
You only live once and that's a sweet ass car.... |

#28, If I were you, and I could afford whatever... I think Id actually go for one of these. If not I definitely would get a fun car. Like a V6 Accord or something similar. |

silverbaby - thats exactly whats going through my mind.
mxcx - if i could truly "afford whatever" i wouldn't be in this dilema.
lemming - sorry. no ford products for me. they haven't been very nice to me, friends, or family.
accord is a definate probability. i could treat them like shit and they treated me great.
being reasonable and making adult decisions sucks.
:(
i'm off to see my insurance agent now.
btw this nsx may be on ebay in a matter of days if no one claims it. (*sniff*)
all it needs is the rear hatch adjusted - 75 bucks in parts and labor at a dealer.

if you actualy can afford it rather than being able to find a way to pay for it go ahead.
however I think having a nsx as a daily driver in a college enviroment would be more trouble than it's worth. |

#36, agrees
also what about older Zs and Supras, i wouldn't think insurance would be more for them, plus even the older ones seem to be rather reliable |

#33, The Ford thing was a joke; I already knew you didn't like Ford products very much. :-)
Still, if this is what you really want, I'd go for it. Just be really careful where you park it. |

#37, I have a 90 300ZX, and the insurance isn't too bad, since nobody has had to file. The 2+2 and seatbelts that you don't have to unbuckle lower the insurace quite a bit. Liability only is about 1300 a year. And the 3.0 is basically indestructable. If I had a chance at an NSX, I would take it. |
