#18, Seriously. Its starting to get irritating. Im not going to bother explaining this anymore, because if he is really as clueless as he makes himself sound, he isn't worth the effort.

Also, a large number of us own imports ourselves. I like what I considire to be nice and tasteful cars. Fast is always a plus. There are a number of imports I like. Especially Swedish and German cars.

#18, Ignore the refutes??? Are you serious?? Initailly, I though most of the guys here were anti-import. We've talked abou it back and forth about this on an intellectual level on another thread and I have a better understanding and we agree mostly its all to do with preference and rice=tacky designs.

I haven't placed placed ANY anti-import bias comments here. When I said "rice is a rice", i said "seriously" after it. I was explaining how the score might have been high for this one. Some people who don't know the history may see the purple as tacky where people who do know, such as I, see it as a classic. It is all about perspective.

#17, Hood pins: Dude, its no big deal. I never seen a classic car without hood pins on it and I got used to seeing them there. It give a slightly cleaner look without them.

#22, When you say "rice is rice" and that people who don't know about Challengers are voting this car high because it looks ricey, the implication is that this car is actually ricey, and the only reason we don't think of it as rice is it's a Challenger.

But if I've misread you, I apologize.

In a way, you are correct.
We don't think it is rice because it is a Challenger and the color has meaning & history. It was an exotic color that came from the factory. This verses some kid saying "ohh, im going to paint my neon orange and green so I can get mom to notice me." If you put a MACH I Mustang on here with the grabber green color, you may get the same voting results. If some kids never knew about the General Lee, they would think it is funny looking when they see it because they never saw it jump every dirt mount and every lake (without a dirt mound) in hazzard county. Overall, these cars are symbolic to a generation.

Here’s the way I look at it:
[b]Challenger:[b] Body builder that can make a pink shirt look good because he has confidence.
[b]Rice:[b] A wimp wearing a Gold Gym shirt going around talking smack.
[b]Sleeper Import:[b] Mysterious stranger that happens to be a ninja.

The thing is, though, is that even if this car was a Neon painted purple, we wouldn't call it rice, unless it had actual rice on it, ie, an ugly bodykit, massive rims, and/or "wing & bling".

Also, you seem to be jumping on the generational bandwagon...I belong to the generation that should be fawning over "h0ok3d uP lmP0R7z", but I don't. Hell, I think StillRuns is the only of our regular users who is over 30. I love classic cars, but more prominently, I love anything that appeals to the general car enthusiast in me. Most of us are like that.

I still don't understand why the score is so high. The only remotely ugly thing on this is the clear cover on the engine and it's not really THAT bad.
