A rice is a rice. Face it.
Seriously, some people probably don't know about the history of the challenger. They see it purple and think ricey. Kinda makes you think, don't it. There's a lesson to be learned here.
The clear box is required probably so snow won't get on it, even though it should cover the entire hole in the roof. |

Don't forget, back in the late 60's and early 70's kids were buying these and upgrading them. 40 yr olds thought these muscle car were pointless, loud, dangerous and stupid looking. "This generation is so naiive..."
It's all about perspective.
Personally, I think it looks sweet. Nice to see one without the hood pins. |

#14, That comment would have some weight, if we called cars rice based on their color alone.
"Big N Little" wheels/tires aren't rice, side stripes aren't rice (yes, on any car), blowers aren't rice. The only thing remotely ricey is the "carbon primer hood", but it appears that it simply hasn't been painted yet...probably a recent install...and wasn't deliberately done to be "mad tight". |

#16, Even if it was deliberate, it matches the side stripes. It doesnt bother me.
#15, Also, wtf is wrong with hood pins? I suppose its cool to have the fucking hood to fly up in your face while you are blazing down the track at 180+?

Honestly, I'm getting a little sick of TCMs "anti-import bias" accusations. His claims are based off of a completely skewered idea of what rice is, and what we do and don't like. He posts his claims, then when they are refuted, he ignores the refutation and posts a variant of the same argument in another thread. He's starting to remind me of a less cocky version of Za.
Hey, Tasty: If we were anti-import, would we call nicely fixed MR2s and Datsun Zs "nice"? If we were anti-import, would we have once had a Honda in the non-ricer top ten? And let's not forget our reception to the '68 Chevelle with the riceboy alluminum wing on it (24494). |
