#3, Some guy out west is independently trying to bring Smart coupes to the states... I say all the power to him, these would be great cars for inner-city driving...and I happen to think Smarts are cute.
I'm kinda pissed that they're designing a Smart SUV (to be called the "fourfour") specifically for the American market (and it will be the ONLY Smart officially sold in America)...my thought is, what's the fucking point?!

Smarts are kinda the 21st century version of the Isetta, an ultra-compact car for urban-only driving where fuel economy and size are the only things the car's good for.

That said, I'll be surprised if they have a long term future

A guy in my SD neighborhood has a red coupe with Cali plates, I want to follow him to a gas (petrol?) station and give him the third degree on ho whe got it past emissions and the other myriad laws we have here.
