Description:
God dammit...why doesn't the American-market version of the Lancer Evo get these taillights rather than those horrible Altezza-style ones?!

What's even weirder... In Europe, the Mazda6 has Altezza-style tailights, but here in America they don't...

#1, Lucky us. Of course, you could make a damn mint selling the Euro lights on EBAY...call them "EDM spec" Mazda taillights.

#3, I second that...but for me, I'd have to add manual transmission training also :P

You don't know how to shift manually? Hahahaha...forgive me, but I find that funny :)

Most cars sold in the US have automatic transmissions. :(

#5, Yeah yeah yeah... the need to drive manual in America isn't as big as in Europe... we have an extremely high percentage of automatic cars versus manual. I CAN drive a manual transmission motorcycle...but all the controls are kinda reversed on a car...

Reminds me of an unrelated joke: What do you call someone that can only speak one language?
An American.

Manual is a lot more fun, though. In a "sporty" car, I'd never want an auto.

#7, What need to drive manual? Why would that differ between USA and Europe?

#9, Few people here buy manual transmission cars, so fewer people learn how to drive manual transmissions, and thus even fewer people buy the next generation of manual transmission cars. It's a vicious circle. :(

#7 That one was funny =)

If you take your driving licence test in an auto here, your not allowed to drive a stick shift. But that's extremely rare.

I need more practice on sticks. I've only driven a few. If you put me in one right now and told me to drive it, it'd be lurching and stalling all over the place. :(

As soon as I get rid of the Brick, though, I'm planning on buying something with a manual.

I like stick cars - but it can hurt their resale value unless it is a sports car. I had a hard time unloading my Altima because it was a manual. But the manual may be more popular soon if people realize they can squeak out a bit more mileage with one...

but the new automatics are getting better... so who knows?

I've gotten pretty used to driving a manual transmission. I'm not used to my uber-short first year yet, though, so I haven't been starting as smoothly as I'd like lately. :(

My first vehicle was an auto and my second (My 91 mustang) is a manual. After having driven equally, switching on and off between the two cars, I can tell you I like driving my manual more. I just feel more involved in whats happening with my car and I love deciding when to shift so I can rev the hell out of it if i want to. Sure it's more involved to drive but that just means you won't be talking on your cell phone or doing any of those other things people feel obligated to do because they have an auto. You can drive it in a way to get great gas mileage or you can drive it fast. I love to just cruise around town in my car because its fun to shift, I never did that in my auto.

#17, manual transmissions don't stop my friends from smoking, drinking coffee, or talking on a cell phone.

I like the Evo VIII except for the taillights.
